The Cigar: The Irish Regional Edition, Punch Néctares No.50

The Irish Regional Edition, Punch Néctares No.50 is a tribute to the Néctares line, a series of six numbered cigars that were produced exclusively for James J. Fox in Dublin and London before 1960 and discontinued in the 1980s.

The Nectares 50 is produced in the format known within Habanos factories as the Magnum 50. Each cigar is adorned with a personalised cigar band bearing the name of the vitola.

This medium-bodied Cuban cigar perfectly captures the signature Punch flavour profile:
rounded and slightly earthy, with just a hint of sweetness. It offers a rewarding smoking
experience of approximately one hour.
Introduced to the market in Dublin in June 2025, this release marks the first Regional Edition ever produced for Ireland. The creation of this historic Regional Edition is the result of a collaboration between Ampersand, the Habanos distributor for the Irish market, Hunters & Frankau, and Habanos S.A.

Total production limited to 1,400 boxes with a small amount in 2026 also being made
available for Casa del Habanos and Habanos Specialists in the United Kingdom.

The Brand: Punch
Punch was first registered as a cigar brand in Cuba in 1840 by a German named
Stockmann, making it one of the very oldest Cuban cigar brands still in current production.
It is often claimed that the brand was named after the humorous British magazine called
Punch, but since the title was not published until July 1841, this is unlikely. Nevertheless
Punch, the magazine, became a British institution for over a hundred and fifty years, which
no doubt assisted Punch, the cigar, to become the firm favourite that it has been with
British smokers for even longer.

Known for its balance of character, craftsmanship, and complexity, the brand is produced at La Corona factory at Avenida 20 de Mayo in Havana, Cuba.
All Punch Havana cigars are totally handmade using long filler with all leaves sourced from the renowned Vuelta Abajo zone in the Pinar del Rio region in Cuba.
