La Invicta Canon is now available in packs of three tubed cigars.
One of the most recent additions to the range, the Canon is a fantastic example of why Nicaraguan tobacco has a growing reputation for delivering great taste. The Canon states its size with Cohiba Siglo VI and delivers a flavoursome smoke for about 50 minutes.
Measuring 5 ⅞” x 52 ring gauge, the Canon is rolled at the world-famous Plasencia Cigar Factory in Nicaragua. It exclusively uses tobacco grown in the Esteli, Jalapa and Condega areas of the country.
La Invicta dates back to the 1940’s. Throughout much of the Second World War and for several years afterwards, various trade sanctions and currency restrictions were imposed globally, including the requirement that UK citizens and businesses use the American dollar.
Although the UK war effort was led by Sir Winston Churchill, one of the world’s most famous Havana cigar lovers, these restrictions made it all but impossible to purchase Cuban cigars and import them into the UK.
To maintain a supply of wartime smokes for the UK, Hunters & Frankau created La Invicta (meaning “The Undefeated”), using tobaccos grown in Jamaica and other countries. The cigars were blended with the taste preferences of British smokers at the time in mind.
When global trade restrictions were eventually lifted, Hunters & Frankau found that La Invicta had developed a loyal following and that demand remained high. A commitment to top-quality tobacco and dedicated craftsmanship has resulted in a long-standing warmth and affection for La Invicta among UK smokers.
A brand born out of war time necessity has now become a much loved mainstay of the UK cigar market and it remains blended especially for the British palate.
